Firmness starts fading in your mid-twenties: the case for a considered, gradual lift
Skin firmness does not disappear overnight. It softens quietly, and it begins earlier than most people expect - from your mid-twenties, well before any change is obvious in the mirror.
Why it starts so early
Firmness comes from collagen and elastin, the support structures that sit deep within the skin. From our mid-twenties onward the skin simply makes less of both, and the scaffolding that once kept everything lifted slowly begins to soften. How quickly it shows depends on a few things: natural ageing, years of accumulated Sydney sun, your genetics and the natural structure of your face, and lifestyle factors such as sleep, stress, smoking and hydration.
Where it tends to show
Because it is the same deep scaffolding softening everywhere, skin laxity usually appears in a pattern: a less defined jawline, a little heaviness through the jowls or neck, and a brow or eye area that reads as more relaxed than it used to. Recognising it as gradual, not sudden, changes how you approach it.
Considered, never overdone
This is where a slow, deep approach matters. HIFU uses focused ultrasound energy to warm the deeper layers and encourage your own collagen, helping to lift and firm the specific areas that concern you rather than chasing one dramatic change. It is non-invasive with little to no downtime. Results build gradually and vary from person to person, which is exactly why a plan is shaped around the areas that matter most to you - not everything at once.
At our Woollahra rooms, care always begins with a skin assessment. Jade and the team look at your skin in person before suggesting anything, so the plan fits your face and your goals.
