Unwanted Facial & Body Hair

Laser hair reduction on the leg

Unwanted facial and body hair is hair that keeps returning wherever you would rather it didn’t (the upper lip, chin, underarms, arms, legs, chest or bikini line), despite endless shaving, waxing and plucking. At Skin Body Health in Woollahra, care starts with a skin assessment and patch test with Jade, then a planned diode laser hair reduction course tailored to your skin and hair, from $70 per area.

Why unwanted hair keeps coming back

Hair grows in cycles, and only a portion of your follicles are active at any one time. That is why shaving, waxing and plucking can feel like a routine that never ends. A few things influence how much hair you grow and where:

  • Genetics, and your natural hair colour, thickness and pattern
  • Hormonal shifts through puberty, pregnancy or other life stages
  • Some medications and health factors that can encourage extra growth
  • Areas that simply bother you, from the upper lip and chin to legs, underarms and the bikini line

Because growth runs in cycles, a planned series of laser sessions works through the follicles as they become active, rather than trying to treat everything in a single visit.

How we approach it at Skin Body Health

We keep things simple and consultation-led, so we won’t presume the right path before seeing your skin and hair in person. Your first step is a skin assessment with Jade, our founder and senior laser and skin clinician, at our rooms in eastern Sydney. With a calm, methodical approach, she takes the guesswork out of where to start. Together you will:

  • Look closely at your skin, and the hair colour, thickness and area you want treated
  • Talk through your history, any hormonal or medication factors, and what has and hasn’t worked before
  • Set realistic expectations about a course of sessions and any maintenance that follows
  • Plan the treatment, including a patch test, straightforward aftercare and diligent sun protection

We share honest, accurate information, so you understand what laser hair reduction can realistically do for your skin and hair before you go ahead.
