Skin Concern

Acne, Congestion & Scarring

Acne and congestion concern

Congestion, breakouts and the marks they can leave behind show up as blocked pores, uneven texture and areas of scarring or pigment across the face and body. At Skin Body Health in Woollahra, eastern Sydney, care begins with a skin consultation where Jade reviews your skin in person, then plans a considered approach to help improve the appearance of your congestion, clarity and the look of scarring – never a one-size-fits-all fix.

What congestion, breakouts and scarring look like

Congestion and breakouts happen when pores become blocked with oil, dead skin and debris, which can show up as bumps, uneven texture and areas that feel rough or look inflamed. Once the skin settles, it can sometimes leave behind marks, indents or discolouration – what most people call scarring. A few things influence how your skin behaves:

  • Oil flow and skin type, which can shift with hormones and the seasons
  • Product build-up, makeup and a routine that isn’t quite matched to your skin
  • Picking or squeezing, which can make marks and texture more noticeable
  • Sun exposure, which can darken existing marks and pigment

Because congestion, active breakouts and older scarring each behave differently, we look at your skin as a whole rather than chasing one symptom.

How we approach it at Skin Body Health

We are a consultation-led clinic, so we won’t assume the right path before seeing your skin in person. Your first step is a skin consultation with Jade at our rooms in eastern Sydney. Together we will:

  • Look closely at your skin, your congestion, texture and any scarring or pigment
  • Talk through your history, your current routine and what has and hasn’t worked
  • Set honest expectations about what a course of treatments can realistically do for the appearance of your skin
  • Map a calm, staged plan with sensible aftercare and diligent sun protection

Our approach is measured rather than rushed. If your breakouts are active or severe, we may also suggest seeing your GP or dermatologist alongside your skin plan.
